Mesa Verde National Park

After a winter full of beaches and warm weather camping in the southwestern states, our little boys were itching for some snow to play in, so we decided to take a trip towards Mesa Verde National Park and stay at a campground close by in Mancos, Colorado. We enjoyed seeing the ancient cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde, and although we were a little bummed about the trails and tours not yet being open for the season, we loved snow sledding and snowball fighting in Mancos, and we even got to see our first frozen lake – ever! I love little surprises like that out on the road, and the best part? Seeing how much fun our guys had building a snow fort and just playing in the snow. Sometimes it really is the little things that bring the most joy.
