Mt. Rushmore and Badlands

After spending quite a few months out west this spring/summer, we decided to make a sprint towards the Dakotas, enjoy the 4th of July fireworks, see a few sights and head north before making our way to Georgia, but the Badlands in July proved to be extremely hot and dry. So after just a few weeks, we altered our course a bit. Thankfully, we were able to go on a short hike in Badlands National Park, drop into Wind Caves for a little while and visit the iconic Mount Rushmore and Custer National Monument. And we liked it. We really don’t have any intentions on returning any time soon, but we’re so glad we went. Our favorite thing? Definitely Mount Rushmore, or as we like to call it “Rount Mushmore.”
