Outer Banks, North Carolina

What is it about the Outer Banks? We’ve been hearing it’s all the rage, so we stopped in for 5 days. While there, we stuck pretty close to the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, checked in at Frisco Campground, transferred over to Cape Point for the wide open spaces, put a hook in the water, attempted the Ocracoke Island Ferry (too long of a wait), swam in perfect ocean temperatures, climbed the lighthouse, and visited the birthplace of flight – the Wright Brothers National Memorial at Kitty Hawk (something we’ve been looking forward to for a while). Oh, and we sweated our booties off too, and swatted a few thousand mosquitoes.
