Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia

After leaving Niagara Falls we hit Pennsylvania and ran into what northerners call “just a light dusting of snow,” which is what we southern folk call “a great snow day!” So we pulled off the interstate and played for a while. (Although I still didn’t give up my Tevas – I am headed to warmer weather, after all!)

That night we stayed at a beautiful Harvest Host, Maize Valley Winery in Hartville, Ohio and were able to have some fun at their corn maze, jump some hay, witness the best pumpkin cannon we’ve ever seen shoot pumpkins over a mile away, and eat some of the best blackberry pie in the world.

From there we landed in Charleston, West Virginia, and although we had plans to explore the city, we finally gave in to road weariness and rested instead at a Cabela’s parking lot before finishing this leg of the journey (free camping at Cabela’s, of course). Even so, we were thankful for the family time together, thankful for safe driving days, and feeling extremely blessed for the sights we have been able to see thus far. Tomorrow is another day.
