Pipe Spring National Monument

If you download a map of the more than 400 national parks and monuments, you’ll notice that there are so many little monuments here and there, and naturally, you might wonder if they are all worth the time to stop in and visit. Unfortunately, we don’t always take the time to stop at the little ones, but every single time we do, we swear we need to stop at more of them. Pipe Spring National Monument was no exception. It was just a little old homestead and fort that was the lifesource of a farming community from times past, but the tour and exhibits taught us so much about the value of water for a community, pioneering a new way of life, and surviving in harsh conditions by reaching out to help others. Completely worth every second.
