Seaperch Summer Schoolin’

A few weeks ago one of our fellow workampers asked our two little guys if they would like to build something fun – kind of a robot, kind of a submarine – and maybe learn a little in the process. Of course, they said yes, and the result has been several work sessions over the past month or so, a successful maiden voyage and heaps of learning for us all. What am I talking about? Well, it’s called the Seaperch project, and all I can really say in my limited knowledge of robotics and unmanned vehicles is that it’s a kit with instructions that has allowed my 9 year old the opportunity to turn a box of pvc pipes, pool noodle bits, wires, and toilet bowl wax into a remote-controlled submarine.
