Summering in Maine Again

We’re back on Mount Desert Island, Maine for a second summer and feeling so thankful to be here. It’s true; there are so many places to visit in the world that we don’t normally go back to the same place twice, but the magic of last summer pulled us back ~ camping right on the saltwater, the ocean breeze, the evergreen forests, the ideal hiking, the cooler temperatures, Acadia National Park all around us, and our friends ~ And yes, it’s just as good as it was when we left in October! So, we’re here in Maine and planning to stay through the end of September again. Happy to be full-time travelers taking the traveling part of our life easy for the summer while we spend some much-needed family time working together at the best campground the island has to offer, hiking every chance we get, with hopes of getting on the water a little more this summer too . Admittedly, it would be nice if Maine wasn’t so far north so we could pop down to our home state of Georgia for a bushel of peaches, a couple of giant watermelons, and a few family get-togethers by the pool, but we’ll be headed south in just a few short months – maybe they’ll save a few peaches for us!
