Valley of Fire State Park

Driving along the bumpy road just outside of Las Vegas, you may not see too much that would catch your eye, but then, the fiery red cliffs of Valley of Fire appear, and you know you’ve stumbled upon something spectacular. That is exactly what Valley of Fire State Park is – something spectacular right where you least expect it.

Although we don’t spend time at many state parks because of the extra fees not covered by our trusty National Park Annual pass, this one came highly recommended, and we are so glad we visited. The hiking was stellar, the colors and formations of the rocks throughout the park were outstanding, and the overall experience was something I will remember for a long, long time. Definitely one of our favorite family Saturdays on record!
